On Asalha Puja Day of the year 2566, which falls on the 15th waning moon of the eighth lunar month, this year coincides with Tuesday, August 1, 2566. At Wat Bothong, the temple has arranged a place for relatives to come and pay respect by circumambulating the temple or stupa area three times in a clockwise direction. During the circumambulation, they must hold flowers, incense sticks, and candles while gathering their minds to be calm and peaceful, and to contemplate on the Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha. The purpose is to keep their minds in mindfulness and not to wander aimlessly. The circumambulation is not performed on both days but only on the day before Asalha Puja, which is called the "Pre-Asalha Puja Day."
